Mat Intensive Training: Sat 10/06 and Sun 10/07 PM-6PM, Sat 10/24 1PM-6PM, Test on Sat  11/17 

This  course can stand alone for those who only wish to teach Mat Pilates, or serves as a prerequisite for those wanting to pursue the Comprehensive Certificate.
In this course, students will learn the original Contrology exercises, modifications and variations, introductory posture analysis, and Foundations of Movement.
NOTE:  This class meets on 4 different dates (all Saturdays and Sundays)

*This course offer 18 hours of CEC’s for American Council on Exercise (ACE)
Course Prerequisites:
- A minimum of 10 Pilates Mat Classes
- Journey to the Core

Pilates Chicago Instructor Training is an apprenticeship-based program. Comprehensive training is only offered to 4-8 individuals at any given time to ensure personal attention to the details of the work. Admission to the program is by approval of the facilitators and/or completion of prerequisites. This course meets on Mondays from 1 – 5pm in 4 5-week modules. Observation, Personal Practice, and Practice teaching hours are required for Certificate of Completion.

Modules can be taken individually, but the Foundations module must be completed prior to enrollment in other modules. Exception to the rule is made for students ‘bridging’ into the program from other training programs or continuing professionals.

 

All apprentices will receive a training manual; included in registration cost. Payment plan offered with autopay enrollment.

• Intentions and qualities of the Pilates Method
• Classical Pilates repertoire

~ Small Apparatus (magic circle, high/low barrels, Spine corrector)
• Equipment Safety
• Anatomy
• Modifications and Contraindications

In addition to in-class time, training includes:

• Reading Assignments and other homework
• Personal Practice
• Observation hours
• Practice Teaching

Students must pass written and practical exam, complete all homework and personal hours, and compete adequate attendance to earn ‘Assessment-Based Certificate of Completion’.
