This five-hour course will show you how Pilates is uniquely suited for training the novice or experienced runner. By learning the details of anatomy and gait, we will explore how developing the proper patterns will offer a safer and more efficient running practice.
In this course, we will:
- Identify imbalances and weaknesses
- Elongate and align the spine for better stability
- Increase overall flexibility, strength, and balance
- Stabilize the pelvis and gain more range of motion and flexibility in the extremities
- Enhance concentration through focused breathing
- Understand the gait cycle of a runner
- Explore the benefits of better posture and more upright running
